Layout of a document or picture in which the longer edge is horizontal. This is useful if you want to print out a wide spreadsheet or image. Documents and letters are almost always printed with the paper in portrait format - the long edge vertical. You can change the orientation of the paper through your Page Setup menu. If you select landscape, the software tells Windows to rotate the text before printing.
